The Family and Descendants of Donald Macqueen of Skye and Belfast, Orwell North, Prince Edward Island.

    Donald Macqueen born Skye in the late 1700's, died sometime after November 5 1811, emigrated with the Selkirk settlers in 1803 on board the Polly. He settled in the Belfast district of Prince Edward Island. After living for a few years near Macaulay's wharf, Donald died, and was buried in the old French Cemetery at Belfast PEI. Among other members of this family, two brothers, John and Angus, remained in Skye.
    He married circa 1800,  Christina Macleod born circa 1780 on Skye, died circa 1864 PEI over 80 years old, buried in the Belfast Cemetery PEI. She was daughter of Malcolm Macleod of the Glaspheins and Euphemia Macdonald.  with children;

A.CHRISTINA MACQUEEN b. c1802 Skye married her cousin JOHN MACLEOD of the Glashvin Macleods. They had children among others;

B.MALCOLM MACQUEEN born Feb 18 1804 PEI died Oct 29 1886, married on Feb 2, 1830 in PEI,  MARGARET MARTIN of Newtown, born 1806 died Nov 5 1892, with ch;

    2.Sarah Catherine Macqueen b. sept 8 1834 died sept 1895 m. William Ferguson, miller of
       Cardigan died 1907 with issue;
            a.Peter Ferguson m. Minnie Macaulay with issue.

    3.John Angus Macqueen b. march 10 1836 died may 25 1918, m. on may 5 1871
        Isabella Nicholson b. 1845 died july 3 1926 with children;
            a.James Macqueen b. July 3 1873
            b.Matilda Brown Macqueen b. march 17 1877 m. Walter D Ross of Kinross.
            c.Malcolm Alexander Macqueen b. dec 8 1878, lawyer, author, wrote SKYE
                PIONEERS AND THE ISLAND, AND HEBRIDEAN PIONEERS, he m. Harriet
                Murgatroyd Riley, Winnipeg
            d.Peter Isaac Macqueen b. dec 15 1880 m. Isabella Irene Ross of Kinross with children
                who all died in youth unmarried.

    4.Christina Macqueen born Orwell july 17 1839 died june 16 1913 married her cousin Malcolm Dockerty of Cardigan, s/o Angus Dockerty and Catherine Macleod.He died Oct 4, 1896. For their descendants, see theDonald Dockerty page.

        Malcolm moved back to PEI and in 1906,  married 2ndly, Catherine Nicholson with further
