The Family and Descendants of Findlay Macdonald and Jessie Mackinnon of Mull and Point Prim Prince Edward Island.
    Findlay Macdonald, born c1750 on the Isle of Mull, buried in the Polly Cemetery Mt. Buchanan PEI,   married Jessie Mackinnon also of Mull, and emigrated on the Dykes in 1803 to Point Prim Prince Edward Island, where his name is recorded as one of the lighthouse keepers there. With Children;


 

A.HECTOR MACDONALD b. c1803 on Mull,  m.CATHERINE MACLEAN d/o Murdoch Maclean of Point Prim. She died when her daughter Anne was 3 years old. Children of Hector and Catherine;

        Georgetown with children;
            a.Catherine Mackinnon b. c1832  m. Donald Gillis s/o Donald, s/o Donald, s/o John of
            Skye with ch;
                1-a.Margaret Gillis  b. 1861 m. Mr Jamieson with children.
                2-a.Daniel Gillis b. c1863 unmarried
                3-a.Archibald Gillis lived Providence RI m. Miss Macneil of Song Creek Macneils
                4-a.Charles Gillis b. c1871
                5-a.Alexander Gillis b. c1869
        b.Mary Mackinnon married with issue.

        d.Charles Mackinnon m. Miss Young
        e.Jessie Mackinnon m. Jasen Barney

    3.Jessie Macdonald Sr.born 1808 Point Prim died Feb 5 1888 age 80 years in  Summerside PEI . Obituary in Summerside Journal, Feb 23, 1888.


    4.Captain Donald Hector Macdonald b. 1812 Point Prim died 1892 Belfast age 80 yrs m.
        Flora  Murchison b. 1816 Point Prim died 1904 Point Prim. with ch;
            a.Catherine Macdonald b. 1843 died 1899 age 56 yrs  m. Captain Malcolm Macleod b.
                Jan 15 1841 Point Prim, died Winnipeg. with children;
                    1-a.Mary Ellen Macleod b. june 1873 Point Prim died jan 8 1961 Ottawa Ont. m.
                            Gordon Alexander Macleod in New Glasgow NS.


    5.Margaret Macdonald b 1815 Point Prim died Aug 20 1860 age 45 years, buried Polly
        Cemetery, Mt. Buchanan,  m. John Jock Macdonald s/o John of the Kinloch Macdonald

    6.Captain Alexander Hector Macdonald born 1818 Point Prim, foundered at sea while in
        command of the barque "Isabella of Charlottetown" with loss of all on board . He m. Mary
        Macrea of Pinette with children;
            a..Catherine Macdonald b. 1846 m. Charles A. Hyndman.
            b.David Alexander Macdonald b. 1859-1937 was Chief Justice of the  Court of Kings
                Bench, Manitoba.
