MARY ELIZABETH LAMONT D/O EWEN LAMONT

Mary Elizabeth Lamont d/o Ewen Lamont and Sarah Macpherson,  b. May 18 1860 Lyndale PEI, on Oct 3 1883 in PEI, m. her cousin  John Samuel Hume b. 1858 s/o Samuel Hume and Catherine Lamont. John inherited the back farm at Woodville lot 62. He died May 6 1918 in PEI and Mary died Oct 18 1935 in Uigg PEI. She is buried in the Belle River Pioneer Cemtery, the last one to be buried there. Mary Lamont and John Hume had children;
  C1.Samuel Hume lived on Grays Road, he m. Edith Hume of Uigg. Samuel  took
  over his wife’s father’s farm in Uigg, he died May 2 1967. With children;

  C6.Catherine Hume m. her cousin Richard Macpherson of Belle River, s/o Donald Macpherson and Elizabeth Brown. Richard’s parents moved to Butte Montana when their yougest child Mary Katie was one year old, and later Los Angeles California. When it came time for his son Richard to marry, Donald thought the California girls were “too fast” for his son Richard, so he sent him home to PEI to find a suitable wife. Richard searched the length and breadth of the Island, and ended up with his cousin Catherine Hume d/o Mary Elizabeth Lamont and Samuel Hume.

  C7.Sadie Hume m. her cousin Donald Macintosh b. Stanchel PEI s/o Alexander Macintosh and Frances Lamont. They moved to Alberta and farmed near Barrhead. They had 15 children. (See family of Donald Macintosh s/o Frances, d/o Ewen, s/o Malcolm Lamont)
