Donald Gillis
Donald Gillis was born Dec 23 1841 in Orwell Head
PEI, baptised on April 3, 1842 in St. John’s Presbyterian Church, in Belfast
PEI. He died in 1926 Orwell Head PEI, and is buried in the Church of Scotland
Cemetery lot 57 #2, stone 107. He was son of Alexander
Gillis and Catherine Macdonald. The picture above is not in very good
condition, it is an old tintype photograph, but from the appearance of
Donald Gillis, I would judge him to have been a fairly large man. He married
Sarah Lamont
born May 17, 1854 in Lyndale PEI, the daughter of Ewen
Lamont and Sarah
Macpherson. For all of Donald and Sarah's children, see John
Gillis of Orwell Cove.
We are descended from his son John
Alexander Gillis who married Lillian Grace Rona Cooper.
