John Alexander Gillis and Lillian Grace Rona Cooper
John Alexander Gillis was born Dec 23, 1841 in Orwell Cove PEI, baptised on July 7, 1881 in the Free Church of Scotland at Orwell Hill PEI. He was son of Donald Gillis and Sarah Lamont of Orwell Cove PEI. John Alexander signed over his half of the family farm and headed out West in the 1920's, eventually homesteading in Vanderhoof, B.C. John Alexander Gillis died in 1963 at 83 years of age, and is buried in Westbank, B.C. He had fairly dark wavey hair and twinkling blue eyes.

of Leeds England. Lillian was a tiny lady who stood only 5 ft tall, with
wavey brown hair and blue grey eyes. When her mother died in childbirth
with her last child, Lillian, only 13 years old at the time, was responsible
for raising 6 younger brothers and a newborn baby sister - it must have
been a difficult life for her. After her husband died in 1963, Lillian
remarried a few years later at age 65, George Choukalos who came from Greece.
