WESLEY walks in stage right, approaching the bar, behind which BARKEEP is cleaning glasses.
Wesley: Hullo, barkeep. A pint, if you please. Barkeep: Coming right up, sir. hesitates. Do you have ID? Wesley: drawing it out. Here you go. Barkeep: inspects ID. I'm sorry sir, your birthday is tomorrow. You are still eighteen, and by the provincial laws, you may not drink until you are nineteen years of age or older. Wesley: My birthday is in two minutes. Barkeep: Be that as it may, our provincial government [a chorus of angelic voices come from nowhere and sing the praises of said provincial government, and the barkeep turns his face towards heaven to receive a blessing from the glorious Parliament in the Sky] has decreed that you must be nineteen years of age or older to drink in British Columbia. Wesley: There is now ten seconds until my birthday. Barkeep: Sir, I must ask you to leave this establishment, as you are not of age to be in here. [outside, a clock chimes midnight. Immediately, Wesley undergoes a change. He grows a three-foot long beard and dons a fashionable fedora, and light begins to glow around him as he undergoes a second puberty. The puberty of manhood. The angelic voices begin singing again.] Enter GORDON CAMPBELL (premier of BC) stage left. Gordon Campbell: Welcome to adulthood, Wesley MacWesleyson! How does it feel to finally be magically mature enough to enter a bar? Wesley: in a far deeper voice. I feel.. different... like I can responsibly handle drinking a pint of beer! Barkeep! Mon Nov 6 09:21:14 2006 Some of you have been wondering where I am. I got a job 2 weeks ago as a night-shift grocery clerk (basically I restock the grocery store shelves after all you jackasses are done pawing through everything and making a huge mess ;)
I may learn better time management skills as the job progresses, but for right now, it's just work-sleep-work-sleep. My apologies to anyone who cares (this would probably be quest-starved PCRPG players)

On a happier note, I installed MemTurbo on Tokath's PC, and it seems to be cleaning up the memory leak that I never got around to cleaning up myself. That means he will respond to infobot queries faster, and freeze less often. :)

Sat Jul 1 21:50:13 2006 Sometimes life can be so good. I haven't had a gallstone attack in over a month. Also, my air conditioner quit working yesterday... it would run for a few minutes, then overheat and shutdown automatically. All I had to go on for a diagnosis was a strange new clicking sound, so despite knowing almost jack about air conditioners, I took it apart. The noise turned out to be the water pump (part of its internal cooling system) and upon opening it, I discovered it was crammed full of crap. No water was getting into it... thus the overheating problem. I cleaned it, saving myself God knows what in air-conditioner-repair-man fees, and it works great now. :)
Here's a picture. (Bastard little pump is in the lower left corner. The melted plastic cover is another story entirely; the previous owner says he overheated it once. Looks more like he set it on fire...)
Wed May 24 14:41:23 2006 Yeah, this is relatively OFN... but it still sucks: TorrentIt.com is gone! :( I was a member there for over a year, and it was one of the best BitTorrent trackers ever... if not the best. I guess this is just further proof that if you want to run a successful torrent tracker, you have to be Swedish.
Fri May 12 20:24:51 2006 Back home. Took the car. I never thought I'd say this, but the Honda Accord is the most reliable car... ever. It ran flawlessly despite being abused and neglected for months, then driven for 4 hours at 70 mph. :P
In other news, the problem with ghetto's PC was the best case scenario: It simply froze during shutdown. Ghetto is now back in PCRPG.
Fri May 12 09:06:19 2006 I'm leaving Spences Bridge and going home today. I will finally be able to find out what happened to the GhettoBot PC... I fear the worst of course, like the hard drive dead with no chance of file recovery. (I can't even backup the database, copying the files corrupts the file-date attributes.)
Or, it could be something as simple as Windows hanging during shut-down (I restart it once every few days, and the problem did happen after a restart).

Thu Mar 23 08:56:33 2006 If you want a slightly more RPGish atmosphere while playing Tribes RPG, I have modified the Tribes client to change some of the in-game messages. X connected to the game becomes X is approaching Keldrin, X dropped becomes X departed, and X joined team Y doesn't appear at all (makes for less spam). To install, just download TribesRPG.exe and place it in your Tribes folder. Then, run it instead of Tribes.exe when playing a game of Tribes RPG. However, it may not fully work. And by that, I mean bugs with it drove me f**king nuts for 3 hours until I think I got it working. Then someone decided it would be good to use it in Clan Orb's forum too, and from there it just got worse... to date, it has been used in over 15 different forums. What the hell?
